2012: Portal Into The “Age of Light”
Yesterday I spoke to my friend who lives in the United States. We talked about the State of the Union and the planet. In summation he said: “Everything is turning upside down!”
The Peruvian Qu’ero shamans, a tribe that pre-date the Incans, agree with my friend. In their language they name this evolutionary era on planet earth the Pachakuti-“The Great Turning.” Pacha means world and Kuti means reversal-“world reversal.” The Earth and Her peoples are rapidly turning away from living in a world order founded in fear and hierarchy towards creating a new paradigm grounded in love and harmonic diversity. As everything we once knew to be true rapidly falls away if we discover a larger pattern, purpose and meaning for what is happening we are better equipped to regain trust in our world and ourselves.
This Great Turning was foretold by not only the Qu’ero but many Indigenous nations, such as the Altai of Mongolia, the Hopi of North America, Maori of New Zealand and the Mayans of Central America. The Mayans, masters at scientifically documenting earthly/cosmic cycles, note that on the winter solstice of December 21, 2012 our sun and earth directly align with Galactic Center. In their calculations this alignment is a pivotal and unprecedented moment in the evolution of human consciousness. According to Mayan cosmology we are ending a 5,000 year cycle and the solstice is a portal into the new era, the ‘The Age of Light’.
When you ask a Mayan elder: “When did humans begin to inhabit the Earth?” The elder replies: “2012”. The Indigenous traditions as well as Eastern Esoteric teachings reveal what Quantum physics confirm through scientific research: All matter is composed of swirling, ecstatic molecules of light. We are in the midst of taking a quantum leap towards becoming Homo Luminous-Beings who are naturally able to perceive this light in all matter. The Mayans name the new form ‘True Human’-a Being who has merged intuition with logic to live with a radiant, open heart.
The Mayans say that at this present moment on the planet we are engaging “the eradication of the Dark Mentalist or negative forces.” This Great Turning is a turning inward to witness those dark thoughts that compel us to act from rigid logic separate from our heart. When we engage these thoughts as the frolicking foes who delight in dancing us away from our inner light, we become the spiritual warrior.
In essence all matter vibrates as pure luminous energy. Negative and positive are mental labels. Through these labels we develop beliefs. Many of these beliefs maintain separation from our inner illuminated matrix. As we rapidly travel towards the 2012 gateway, forces beyond our control are awakening each of us to discover that what we believe, think and act creates our present reality. We can no longer afford a belief that we are separate from each other, the earth and the cosmos. The Balinese say Aku Adalah Kamu Kamu Adalah Aku, “I am another you.” I am you and you are me and we are all in this together so let’s take care of each other and help each other be reborn as Homo luminous. Humanity has arrived at a critical crossroads: “If we don’t change directions we just might end up where we are headed.” (Reuben Snake)
What we and our world are results from our thoughts. When I meet a Balinese upon the road they ask “Dimana kamu tingal?,” “Where do you stay?” Spontaneously I point to my heart. My personal practice is to stay in my heart. In order to stay in my heart I must slow myself down; feel the earth under my feet and listen to the steady rhythm of my heart. In this way I can harness any fearful thoughts and turn them towards the direction of my heart.
If there is a fearful thought there is a corresponding fearful feeling. I feel the fear in my body and inhale it into my heart. I embrace this fear with an exhale of love-love for myself, for the planet, for humanity. Inhale fear….exhale love….Inhale fear….exhale love. After a few breathes my body relaxes and my heart opens. I return to the ground of my divine nature. My mind clears and I discover that I have many choices on how to respond. I feel light and en-Lightened. When the heart is open it is as the ocean, accommodating everything. The heart knows no religion; it has no boundaries.
The Great Turning provides us with heartbreak. As our heart breaks we are broken open to discover all that we are. When things fall apart we are presented with the opportunity to feel our feelings, trust our intuition and gut instincts and view our lives with radical honesty. What rises up out of a broken heart is the light of our eternal flame. Let’s deeply mourn our losses, use the fire of our anger to fuel fearless compassionate action and follow the leaping flame of our hearts. Faith is the cushion.
Each of our souls signed up to participate in this Cosmic Consciousness Re-Birth. As the late great mystic, William Shakespeare noted: “There are no small parts, only small players.” Every one of us are integral (should we choose to accept this mission) in co-creating a global play founded in the divine laws of abundance, interdependence and harmonic diversity. The Native American Hopi tribe say that no one person is the coming Messiah, rather “we are the ones that we have been waiting for.”
In the Balinese language there is no word for ‘art.’, and yet the culture is affluent in diverse artful expressions. How can this be? Perhaps it is because the Balinese naturally understand that each of us is an expression, a creation of the divine. This means that each of us is endowed with this unlimited, creative power. We are not separate from it for it is our essential Nature. The magnetic, luminous power that birthed the Cosmos resides within. The Great Turning gifts us with the opportunity to remember our divine birthright and to re-member our world from the luminous matrix of our Being. We are the creators of the art of living.
This is an unpredictable time for the Little Blue Planet. Unpredictable times require radical, creative new thought responses. As the old paradigms crumble we are faced with an unknown future because each of us are charged with creating it, here and now. We are the art directors for this New Earth. Creativity is messy. We can create out of fear, despair and doubt or we can create out of love, faith, and wonder.
A Native American Elder is sitting watching the river flow with his young grandson. He turns to the boy and says: “My son, there are two wolves fighting inside of me. One is the wolf of fear, greed and hatred. The other is the wolf of love, abundance, and forgiveness.”
His grandson asks: “Who will win the battle, Grandfather?”
“Whichever one I feed.”
